My Story

Luke McCulloch holding S5II

I graduated from Edge Hill University with a first-class degree in film and TV production as the first person in my family to pursue higher education.

I started my first job in the industry in 2021, working for the acclaimed Director of Photography and Executive Producer, Mark Oulson-Jenkins, in his production company, Studio RTR. It was thanks to Mark that I first learned the ropes of practical camera operation and editing across a wide variety of genres, including documentaries, corporate videos, commercials, music videos, etc.

I was able to work with huge companies like Castle Fine Art, Cemex, and Kütchenhaus as well as film videos for Johnny Depp, Tinie Tempah, and the Mancunian rock band, ‘James’!

To this day, Mark and I work together on various freelance projects across the country.

I went on to become the in-house videographer for Killer Ink, Europe’s largest tattoo supplier, where I used the skills that I honed to independently produce all of the company’s marketing videos, Google advertisements, tutorials, podcasts, and product videos.

I have been blessed with opportunities to travel across the globe, filming the biggest tattoo conventions in Europe – Milano Tattoo Convention (Milan, Italy), Gods of Ink Tattoo Convention (Frankfurt, Germany), and the Brighton Tattoo Convention.

Future plans

My upcoming projects will focus on producing educational content on lighting, camera operation, and how anyone interested in learning film and videography can harness techniques to create amazing shots.
